Day 20- This month

This month is November... which means, Thanksgiving!!!! This is one of my favorite holidays because it's spent with family and friends. This year I am so excited to spend the holiday with Joe's parents, Mike and Christy and their son Sean. In the 9 years of holidays since Joe and I have been together we have never celebrated Thanksgiving with his family. Now before you go thinking that we're evil people, they were always living in a different state and Joe and I have always had to work the following day so we never traveled.

We've done a couple of Thanksgivings with my parents, I've done our own for just the two of us when Joe used to work on Thanksgiving, and we've spent a few with some close friends. It's always a nice excuse to pig out!!! Joe's particularly excited because he can spend as much time watching football as he wants without feeling guilty. He and his father will probably be on the couch most of the day watching football. This is ok because I'll spend the time with Christy helping her with whatever. I don't have to cook this year, which is a positive, mostly because there's not a mess at my house! The only thing I'm baking is a pumpkin pie (Mom's recipe of course- it's not Thanksgiving without it) and a pumpkin cheesecake per Mike's request.

I'm rather excited, I haven't had to worry about groceries, thawing the turkey (reminder: if you haven't taken your turkey out of the freezer, I highly suggest you do that right now), and I don't have to worry about the brine for the turkey on Wednesday night!!

I hope you have been able to take the time to enjoy this month... I know I have!

xoxo
